The Personal Telco Project (PTP) map is far from perfect, so it pains me to criticize, possibly causing my glass house to explode into tiny shards, but the WifiPDX map is painfully stale in a number of cases. For example, The Daily Double (a former PTP node) has been out of business for at least a couple years now. Also a bunch of active Personal Telco nodes are missing. These things need active maintenance, ideally by the users that can find obscure locations and report on status. Every year or so, the Personal Telco tries to audit its nodes to determine whether indeed the nodes we think are there, really still are. If people want to report PTP outages, please do so at: info@personaltelco.net.

Also, if you've got an internet connection at home or at your business, consider sharing it with your community and join Personal Telco in making Portland a better place. It isn't that hard. Personal Telco has been around for 8 years, we know how to do this stuff, we are here to help.
