Let the Craziest Week of the Year Begin!

Christmas? Thanksgiving? Summer vacation? Nope, they all pale in comparison to this crazy November week. Here, take a peek…

  • Monday: Portland Public Schools has the day off; so I must scramble to get Kid #2 to all-day aftercare without the prod of ‘we’ll be late for school‘ to get her motivated. (Thankfully, the WordPress 2.7 party’s been cancelled since 2.7 itself has been delayed, so don’t show up at Cubespace, ok?)
  • Tuesday: Veterans Day. School closed yet again (kids have at least five days off this month alone.) Kid #2 has Red Cross class in the morning; will come with me to work in the afternoon until I can drop her off with teen so I can attend this: Thrive PDX, billed as a meeting of the minds between old tech (as embodied by the SAO) and new tech (Beer & Blog, Legion of Tech, Ignite, etc.) RSVP on Upcoming and join us at Kell’s, won’t you?
  • Wednesday: It’s the OurPDX meetup at Thatch! Yes, we jammed it right between Thrive and Ignite — but do drop by for some munchies on us & buy yourself one of the best MaiTai’s in town. (RSVP on Upcoming.) I can’t stay late myself, since…
  • Thursday: …I’ll still be in mad preparation since I’m one of the presenters at Ignite Portland 4 at the Bagdad Theater (along with this lovely lady.) 550 people have already scored the much-coveted ticket (they were out within 3 1/2 hours once announced, which only served to ramp up my ‘I’m so not worthy’ presenter’s agita), but you still may be able to get in via general admission.
  • Friday: What better way to kick off a kid-free weekend than Beer & Blog, of course. (If I dare show my face in public after Thursday’s possible debacle, of course.)
  • Saturday: I sleep in!

What does your week look like?

I’m saving all my out and about time for Thursday night… assuming I don’t crash and burn I think I’ll go out and celebrate after the event… Is there an after party?

There was one after IP3, but I haven’t heard anything about an after-party for this one yet. If not – we can make one ourselves, right?

There will be some sort of post-event drinking, officially or not :)

Looking forward to your IP4 talk, Betsy!

I’m late… but yes if there isn’t an after party I say we make something up… somewhere with good drinks and snackage.. I expect to be hungry when it’s all through.
