I have tried running a restaurant myself. The restaurant’s been closed for years and I’m _still_ paying for it. I’m happy Green Dragon found a buyer, but sad about the net loss of diversity that will result from the change of onwership.

Why did they sell out? Could be a million freakin reasons. Try running a restaurant yourself someday and see how hard it is. They could be tired of it, they may be looking to do something else, they might be losing money, they might want their lives back. Give them a break and be happy someone is buying it rather than it shutting down and putting people out of work.

Why did they sell out? My understanding is that at least one of the owners was having to provide monthly cash injections to make ends meet. It’s easy to assume that because a business is visibly very popular and busy that it is making money hand over fist. Unfortunately this is not always the case.

Sad news indeed. Somehow I doubt that Rogue will make as few changes as they are currently claiming.

This is making me frown. Love the Green Dragon and try to get over there as often as possible. I held my second anniversary of moving to Portland there. The beer selection, the frites, the people, the frites…very bummed about this news.
