Geno paints a house

Portland is known for being full of artists and musicians. It seems like everyone knows someone who would call themselves an “artist” or “musician.” We’re an expressive lot, with varying degrees of quality. Most of us have day jobs to pay for our passions. Some can pay their bills by living their art. Some do both.

My friend Geno is a man of many talents. He is a computer troubleshooter for money, and paints in his spare time. (He’s pretty good with a camera as well.) He was recently commissioned to do a 30″ X 40″ painting of a business, and I got to watch the creative process.

He planned for time off, and dove in head first. He’d send me pictures of his progress, the most recent about two weeks ago. It looked nice, and I thought he was done. He “just had a few things to touch up.” Yesterday he sent me a pic of the finished product, and I feel compelled to share.
