I’m going to the Presidential Inauguration on January 20th in Washington DC. There, I got it out of the way. I’m at the airport right now with some great free wifi, courtesy of PDX International. My travels will take me through Seattle and Detroit before I get to Philadelphia where we’ll spend a night before heading down on Amtrak to Washington DC. I’m so excited I could pee. I don’t really know how to describe how I feel about being able to attend the inauguration of the 44th president and our first Black president. This is a life memory. Something I’ll remember until I die.
I’m going to take a ton of pictures and upload them when I can. You can find them on Flickr – search for dieselboi. I’m going to try and tweet, so if you are on Twitter, follow me – dieselboi. If you don’t want to follow, just follow the hashtag – #pdxinaug09. I made that up, but I’ll tag all my tweets with that. Lastly, I will blog when I can. This is an exciting time for America and I want to experience it fully. Wish me luck with the “crush level” crowds.

That’s AWESOME! Can I say how proud I am that our blog is represented in person?! It truly is an experience of a lifetime.
Have a safe journey.
Way to go! That is superb.
Awesome! Have a safe trip! I can’t wait to see everyone’s photos, updates on Facebook, etc. as they come in from the festivities. A friend of mine in Atlanta will be there as well. Having lived through enough DC winters, I’m content to watch the ceremonies at home on TV.
What a great experience for you and thanks — in advance — for sharing with all of us!!!
You go boi!
ThanKs so much for documenting this and for representing Portland!
Can’t wait to read more!
Awesome! Have a safe trip, and relish every moment of this once in a lifetime event. And HUGE thanks for giving the PDX community a way to experience it first hand!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I made it to Philly and spent most of the day relaxing and catching up on sleep. We’re heading to DC tomorrow via Amtrak mid day. I’ll throw some photos up on Flickr via the iphone and Twitter.
