maudesquadOne of the many reasons I love the Hollywood Theater is there are times when I have a chance to watch one of my favorite movies on a big screen. The first time I went to the Hollywood Theater, I got to see The Big Sleep with all three alternate endings. Movie dorks understand how much fun that was for me. Obviously, I wasn’t alive the first time it played, so for once I wasn’t relegated to seeing Bogart and Bacall on a small screen.

This week you have another chance to see a movie you may have missed on the big screen, the 1971 Hal Ashby classic Harold and Maude, with a special musical addition – local Portland Musicians, Dale the Nail, Carl of SoloVox, Ms. Sarah King and Dave Camp will be playing the Cat Stevens soundtrack live.

Cost is $15, but you can get $5 off the admission if you bring a donation to the Oregon Food Bank. Get your tickets here, there are shows at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 12.

Very cool! I love this movie. It made be vow to be a hot minx Maude when I’m old. :)

I cannot watch this movie. Watching the jag/hearse combo go over the cliff (which it actually did) makes me cry.
