Tomorrow, along with being Oregon’s 150th birthday, is also Zwickelmania! What is Zwickelmania? Zwickelmania, hosted by the Oregon Brewers Guild (OBG), is a free statewide event that offers visitors a chance to tour Oregon breweries, meet the brewers and sample their favorite beers – all during Oregon’s Sesquicentennial weekend.  All day tomorrow, you’ll be able to wander the city and state and get up close and personal with the brewers of your favorite beer.  Ever wondered what a Mash Tun was?  They’ll tell you.  Wanna ask them if Sam Adams’ commercials touting “a pound” of hops really matters?  They’ll tell ya.  Want to taste some beer?  Yep, they’ll do that too and probably for free.  In downtown alone, you could make a walk out of it, starting at Lucky Lab off NW 20th working your way south to Bridgeport and Rogue and Deschuttes and Rock Bottom, finishing the afternoon at Full Sail on the waterfront.  Wow, that would be a blast.  Or, have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at Hair of the Dog?  They’ll be open too.

Think of this as brewery day in Oregon.  Holy Crap!  A full list of the breweries participating in the event can be found here.  Most offerings are between noon and 5pm.  Many will have their master brewers on site to answer questions.  Enjoy and don’t forget to raise a pint to celebrate Oregon’s birthday.
