I just received this news tidbit from new hot north PDX restaurant Lincoln via email, and thought I’d pass it along.

Since I’ve been curious about checking out Lincoln and Ned Ludd yet am trying to be cost-conscious these days, this seems like a fine way to give each restaurant a trial run.

Lincoln, Ned Ludd and Belly are joining together to bring you 3 Stops for $30. You can dine progressively on one night, or choose to go to each restaurant separately on different nights. $30 buys you a card that can be redeemable for a chef’s choice appetizer paired with a beverage from the bar at each restaurant. Cards are available at all three restaurants. Feel free to call for more details.

Sadly, you can’t find details about this offer on any of their glitzy websites, though (says this Luddite who still wishes restaurants would amp down the glitzy and offer, um, real *information* — not downloadable PDF menus, contact information that’s not in a graphic, or HEY, news about this promotion — on their sites instead…)

I actually like the .pdf menus (although they muck up my menus site), but I agree with the glitz. The flash drives me crazy; do they not realize they are leaving out their mobile phone users! When do I want to check a menu or hours? Mostly when I’m wandering around and only have my phone. Some of them even have sounds/music. Ugh.

Exactly. And if the address is embedded as a graphic, well, I can’t just click on it and get a map to their location. Ditto the phone number – have to manually type it in. (oh! the horrors!)

It was a bit of a hassle to extract the restaurant addresses and phone numbers for this post, in fact. But I did it because I care!
