KGW is debuting its Studio on the Square this week with celebrations on Friday and an open house on Saturday. The Studio on the Square is KGW’s new HD studio in the former Powell’s Travel bookstore space in Pioneer Courthouse Square. The studio has been built with the reporters sitting with windows at their back, showcasing what is going on out on the square. From a viewer’s perspective, we get to watch both the news and something extra (if it happens.) It’s Portland’s own Today show.

So, now that they are live, when will we have our first view of the best of Portland being weird. I know there has to be a tape delay, but they can’t catch everything. Will we see boobs? Signs? Protests? Bikes? (obviously bikes.) I’m not a watcher of TV news in the morning (am an NPR fiend), so am looking to you and the rest of Portland to let us know when the first faux pas occurs. When you do, throw it our way and we’ll post it. Email authors at ourpdx dot com.

Gotta go work on my “Bloggers representing Overlook” sign and help Wizardboots with his “Respect The Porn” sign.

A gentle correction, DB. Wouldn’t that be March 6 & 7? Or is Thomas Lauderdale going to be fashionably late?

I may have to do a man-on-the-street post, just in case there’s boobs. I’ll be quick-minded like the Secret Service and wrestle them to the ground. For the children, of course.
