I am saddened by the passing of Les Paul — guitar making innovator and player extraordinaire. He was 94 years old. Nothing matches the feeling of plugging his namesake electric guitar into a cranked half stack and crushing out power chords. It feels good in your guts to play a Les Paul. Your stomach rumbles, your ear drums split, and your teeth chatter.
Countless Portland garage bands have had their sound influenced by this great man. I’d like to hear the thoughts of others. Please feel free to post your comments.

Not only did the guy revolutionize the guitar, but he was the inventor of multi-track recording. Just about all the recorded media we listen to today, we owe to him.
