I’ve never been bitten by the gambling bug. I learned early on in life that I should never bet anything I’m not willing to lose. Ten bucks? I can afford to lose that once in a while.
The Oregon Lottery has a new game out, and tickets are going fast. The Thanksgiving Raffle is the second of Oregon Lottery’s raffle-style giveaways. (The last one was St. Patrick’s Day. I lost a tooth that day, not gambling. But I digress.) Here’s the dilly-o: You plunk down $10, and get one of 250,000 tickets. One person wins a million bucks; a few others win smaller prizes.
If you want in, you’d better hurry. A casual inquiry last night says tickets are well past half gone. I’ve already got the winning ticket, which you can look at and drool over. But please, don’t quit playing because of that. Your contributions will not only insure I get a full jackpot, but maybe keep a school or two open.
