We’ve provided updates to the bar information below where needed, plus can tell you that BarFly has a more exhaustive list of drinking establishments that’ll be open on Thanksgiving. Some of us just might do some live-tweeting in an ‘on-the-spot’ reporting kinda way [...]

Chickens Lost and Found

by djtv

As I was leaving Mt. Tabor Middle School yesterday, I happened upon this sign stapled to a telephone pole in the neighborhood:

I guess here is where I admit that I’m a visual person, so I started thinking about what the scenarios looked like to get to the point where you type up a sign in [...]

Someone Tried to Burn Down My House

by djtv

Last Friday I came home to what looked like — at first, anyway — some wind-blown containers scattered around my yard. But when I went to pick them up, I discovered some burn marks in my lawn and a circle of flammable material underneath the bedroom window, with some burn attempts there, as well. [...]

Five Cheers for Five Stars for the Multnomah County Library System

by djtv

Maybe it’s the smell, or the infinite possibilities of books and the stories inside them, but I’ve always loved the library. I spent every Saturday at my small local library as a kid. The library in the town I lived in was only open for 4 hours on Saturday, so, I raced down there to [...]

Trail Blazers Find their Rhythm At Just the Right Time

by djtv

My ears are still ringing, and I’m pretty sure they’ll be that way for awhile.
You see, I got to go to the Trail Blazers vs. Denver Nuggets game tonight, as a very willing date with an old friend. And I’m still up at midnight, because it was that exciting.
A couple things to think about from [...]
