Here’s what we’ve found as we’ve traveled the local PDX web (complete with our comments) for September 10th

  • Portland Mercury | Blogtown, PDX | Damn Right, I’m Bitter – Matt Davis asks these questions in a much longer rant:

    Why would I want anything more to do with the city of Portland? Why should I believe a single positive word coming out of its boondoggling little mouth? I want so much to believe in a city that works. A city that cares. A city that wants to make life easier for people. But I'm experiencing a city that obstructs. That evades. That, it seems, couldn't give a hoot about responsibility. And it's making me angrier by the day, to the point where I feel paralyzed to even open my mouth for fear that the whole lot might just come tumbling out in some mad man's torrent of Falling Down-style idiocy.

  • Food News! | An Exploration of Portland Food and Drink – There's an abundant wealth of food news on PFD, from staff moves, restaurant openings that've fallen flat, and/or some occasional snarkiness. Also – if you want to see more reviews, kick in some cash to cover Food Dude's reviewing tabs, will you?
  • OSCON? Gone » Silicon Florist – O'Reilly's pulling OSCON down to San Jose and the RailsConf to Vegas. Was it something we said…?

  • Flickr – Photo Sharing! – Halfway through changing the ladder from "Hancock" to "The Dark Knight". (editor's note – probably NSFW, but courtesy of a co-worker nonetheless…!)
  • The Mighty 6 – A group blog chronicling the life and times on the buses of TriMet. Who couldn’t love posts that start like this? “I’m on the bus for five minutes and already I’m dropping down into everybody’s business like Spiderman on his thread…”. (hat tip to Jack Bog for the find…)
